Restoration Part 5(Engine Repair3、Frame Repair4 Others) 【Toyota 2000GT –  Episode 10】

All right — it’s finally time for the long‑awaited 2000GT progress update!
With the year-end and fiscal year-end rush, things have gotten pretty hectic inside the company.
(…Yes, I know, it sounds like an excuse 🥲)
Because of that, it took longer than expected to get this article out…
But let’s shake it off and get right into it!

Engine Repair ③

The engine has returned from servicing.
(Many thanks to Kokuka Co., Ltd. for the work.)

☝ After all, this is what it looked like at the very beginning…

…And now, the engine has been docked with the transmission.

Even on their own, the engine and transmission look incredibly cool.

Frame Repair ④

The differential has also been installed.

Bodywork – Continued

Here’s the latest update on the body.
The photo on the left shows the passenger-side footwell, and the photo on the right shows the driver-side footwell.
Looking good here as well.
On the driver’s side, the white bracket you see is the mount for the steering column.

The top photo shows the interior looking toward the rear.
The photo on the right is taken from the rear hatch, looking into the cabin.

☝ The leaf springs also received new trim.

Thanks to that, the musty, moldy smell inside the car is now completely gone.
Before the replacement, the odor was strong enough to make you feel unwell…

This time, I introduced various sections in a scattered, step-by-step way,
but seeing all these components gradually come together really makes the restoration feel real.

That’s it for now — please look forward to the next update!
